Creating Groups for the Icon Bar
By adding a separator line between icons, we
combine additional functions into Groups.
At the end of the Icon Bar we add customized Reports to evaluate
the performance of our business.
|
The Inflow Group
Usually there are three distinct steps when money flows in: Create an
invoice; Receive a payment; Make a deposit. It is important to follow
each step for Receivables to operate correctly.
|

Left Side of Icon Bar |
The Outflow Group
Money usually flows
out when the following actions are performed: Write a check; Enter
and pay a bill; Pay payroll; Enter a credit card charge.
|

Right Side of Icon Bar |
Distribution Group
Once the money has flowed into
the business we want to see how the money is distributed. This is
represented by the Chart of Accounts which gives us our pathway to
access the accounts where the money has been allocated, and the
check register which shows the details of each transaction. Therefore the
Distribution Group is represented by the icons on the right
which are placed immediately to the right of the
Inflows Group on the Icon Bar.

Lists Group
To the right of the Distribution
group we create our Lists group. These are the names
and items that are used most frequently in QuickBooks.
They comprise the Customer, Vendor, and Items lists
