Re-sort Accounts Manually

After you re-sort the accounts alphabetically, you may find that accounts are not in the order you would like. In the example below, "Cost" should appear above "Accumulated Depreciation".
Procedure:

1) To change the order of the list manually, put the cursor on the diamond to the left of the account you want to move, so that it becomes a cross arrow....

2) then right click and hold the mouse button down and drag the account to where you want to position it.

By re-sorting accounts manually, you can customize the order in which each account appears within its type on the Chart of Accounts. However, when you re-sort automatically as explained on page 10, the accounts will revert back to an alphabetical order within their respective types on the Chart of Accounts.
